Andy’s Bold Bald Move
At the recent meeting of Square Wheels Lodge at Alderson House, Warwick, Warwickshire Freemason Andy Hare turned a personal battle into a powerful act of charity.
Andy is a highly respected member of both the Mike Hailwood Lodge (for motorcycle enthusiasts) and Square Wheels Lodge (for classic car lovers). Currently undergoing treatment for cancer, Andy decided to take control of his journey by organizing a sponsored head shave to benefit the Warwickshire 2028 Appeal for Fisher House.
Through his brave efforts, Andy has already raised an impressive £800, which thanks to the generosity of the Masonic community will be match funded by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire and again by the Masonic Charitable Foundation, increasing the total value of the donation from £800 to £3,200.
The funds will go directly to the Warwickshire 2028 Appeal to support Fisher House, a vital charity providing “home away from home” accommodation for the families of military personnel and veterans.
Located at the Centre for Defence Medicine within the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Fisher House allows families to stay within walking distance of their loved ones during treatment. This proximity provides essential comfort and emotional support during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Andy’s fundraising page will remain open until 7th February for those who wish to support this worthy cause. Every pound donated helps keep military families together when they need it most.
