Spreading Fun, Laughter, and Freemasonry
The Let’s Talk Team has enjoyed a remarkably active and rewarding summer, attending ten days of events across the province and supporting the membership team at two open events. In addition, the team assisted two Masonic meeting places with their Heritage Day commitments, ensuring they were well-staffed and represented.
In total, the team was out in the community for 16 days between the end of May and the end of September, speaking with the public, answering questions, and showcasing the positive impact Warwickshire Freemasonry has within local communities.
One of the highlights of the summer was the collection of nearly 200 charity nomination forms, where visitors put forward local charities to receive a £1,000 donation in their name.
At Warwickshire’s Installed Masters Lodge on 30th September two winning charities will each receive a cheque for £1,000:
- The Gap (Warwick) – a community hub offering youth clubs, older adult activities, and vital programmes aimed at reducing loneliness.
- British Heart Foundation – supporting groundbreaking research into heart disease and the development of new treatments.
Across the season, it is estimated that the team engaged directly with between 1,000 and 2,000 people, raising awareness of Freemasonry’s work and strengthening connections within our local communities.
The Let’s Talk Team is already planning for next summer and is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help at weekend events. Just a couple of hours on a Saturday or Sunday can make a big difference, and volunteers always enjoy plenty of fun, laughter, and the chance to meet interesting people.
