Warwickshire Freemasons’ Social Media Continues to Grow

Warwickshire Freemasons’ social media presence continues to go from strength to strength, with our Instagram account recently passing the 6,000-follower mark and our Facebook page now standing at around 14,000 followers.
The growth over the past 12 months has been particularly impressive. During that period, we have added 2,029 Instagram followers and 9,674 Facebook followers, significantly increasing the number of people regularly seeing and engaging with news from Freemasonry across Warwickshire.
Behind those figures is a great deal of work from our social media team. Sean Phillips continues to manage our social media channels, while Rick Matsokotere produces the popular weekly round-up, bringing together stories and highlights from lodges and chapters across the Province.
Our audience has also been boosted significantly through paid Meta advertising created and managed by Provincial Communications Officer Roger Green. These campaigns have enabled Warwickshire Freemasons to reach well beyond our existing followers, putting our content in front of thousands of people who may previously have known little about modern Freemasonry.
Of course, attracting followers is only part of the story. Keeping them interested requires fresh, engaging and sometimes slightly unusual content.
Last year, one of our most popular features saw Provincial officers transformed into familiar yellow, Simpsons-style characters. This year, the creativity has continued with a weekly video series showing a Masonic lodge being physically constructed by Lego-style characters – some of whom bear a remarkable resemblance to well-known Warwickshire Freemasons!
Alongside these lighter features, our channels continue to share lodge news, charitable activity, membership stories, events and examples of Freemasonry making a positive contribution across Warwickshire.
Facebook and Instagram currently remain our largest platforms, but work is also underway to strengthen Warwickshire Freemasons’ presence on LinkedIn and YouTube, giving us another important way of reaching members, potential members and the wider community.
The numbers are encouraging, but more importantly they demonstrate just how effectively good content, regular activity and targeted advertising can work together to tell the Warwickshire Freemasonry story to an ever-growing audience.
