Light Blues Take Their Fundraising to New Heights

The Warwickshire Freemasons Light Blues Club has presented a cheque for an impressive £12,900 towards the Province’s Tercentenary Appeal in support of Fisher House.
The cheque was presented to Philip Hall, head of Freemasonry in Warwickshire, at the September meeting of Warwickshire Installed Masters Lodge by Richard Freakley, who was himself one of those who took part in the Light Blues’ charity skydive.
The presentation marked the culmination of a hugely successful fundraising effort following the skydive, with members of the Light Blues Club quite literally taking the plunge for a very worthwhile cause.
The money will go towards the Warwickshire Freemasons Tercentenary Appeal, which is raising funds for Fisher House, the “home away from home” at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for military patients and their families.
Receiving the cheque, Philip Hall said:
“This is a wonderful and extremely generous contribution from the Light Blues Club. It reflects not only the enthusiasm and determination of those who took part in the skydive, but also the generosity shown by Freemasons across Warwickshire in supporting such a worthwhile cause. Fisher House provides an invaluable service to military patients and their families, and I am immensely grateful to everyone who has helped us support its work.”
The latest donation adds to an extraordinary fundraising effort across the Province. Warwickshire Freemasons have now given £700,000 to Fisher House, demonstrating the continuing commitment of members, lodges and chapters throughout Warwickshire to supporting the charity.
