A Milestone Morning for Collegiate Lodge No. 9943

On the morning of Saturday, 28th March, the Brethren of Collegiate Lodge No. 9943 gathered for a significant meeting in the Lodge’s short history. The proceedings began with the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Peter Clark, presiding over the opening of the Lodge, accompanied by the Provincial Grand Wardens, lending a great sense of occasion to the morning.

The installation ceremony itself marked a proud, full-circle moment for this Universities Scheme Lodge. The Installing Master holds the distinction of being the Lodge’s very first initiate following its founding in 2017 to have progressed through all the regular offices to the Chair. Seeing him install his successor in such fine form was an excellent demonstration of the Universities Scheme fulfilling its primary purpose: guiding new Masons from their initiation through to the Mastership of the Lodge.

He installed W. Bro. William Watson, Provincial Grand Registrar, into the Chair of King Solomon in a sincere and well-worked ceremony. Bringing a wealth of experience to the role, Will is well placed to lead the Lodge through a successful year ahead. Following the morning’s labours, the Brethren retired to a very enjoyable Festive Board, where good food and traditional Masonic harmony were rounded off with warm toasts to both the outgoing and newly installed Masters.
